We all have issues and baggage that we carry around with us, from childhood, from family, from past relationships, from various people and events in our life which shape us for better or worse, consciously or unconsciously into the person we are. According to the dictionary, baggage (aside from being a form of luggage) is: Something that encumbers one’s freedom, progress, development, or adaptability. An intellectual or emotional impediment. For my latest art project I seek to give these invisible burdens visible identities…. my hope is that this ongoing project will demonstrate to all involved that we are not alone, that our baggage is shared by all of humanity, and that this knowledge might just make our own baggage a little bit easier to carry. Participating in this project is simple: 1. Find or make a luggage tag 2. Write your baggage on that tag 3. Attatch the tag to yourself or someone else and take a photo of it 4. Submit the photo through the ‘submit’ section at the top of this blog page or email the photo to: thebaggageproject@gmail.com 5.
